Okay. So week one of the new TV season has past. In my TV world anyway. So far it’s been Thursday. Bones, Survivor and The Office.

So, Bones I’m saving. We’ve got one last episode from last season and we can begin the next. So no spoilers please.

Then there was Survivor. I always find this stage of Survivor awkward. There are too many people to keep track of. You just let them sift around until there are a smaller group to follow. Otherwise you end up wasting time following someone who’s going to get the boot anyway. The “evil” dude is interesting. Yes, being that he’s not drawn to the money but rather the ability to cause chaos is dangerous, once the others get their feet under them and figure him out, he’ll be gone. Beyond that, we’ll see how it goes. I always enjoy Survivor. Is it just me or does Russell sound like Cleveland from Family Guy? Strange.

Then it’s The Office. Always good. “Parkour! Parkour!” Funny stuff. When they get into character they must just try to think like a child. I love it.

Monday night we’re looking at Hosue, The Big Bang Theory and Heroes. I’m going to sit back and let it happen. I have to assume they’ll all be great otherwise there is no point.

Happy TV watching. Later!

Okay. So just a few quick thoughts on the upcoming tv season. Show by show, alphabetical, not included if I have nothing significant to say.

24 – I liked this show when I started watching in season 3 or so. They went through a nasty patch. The truth is each year I want it to grab a hold of me again. Last season was enough to stop my growing annoyance with it. But I tell ya guys, I’m not totally pulled back in yet. Also you really need to tighten up your hiring techniques. Way lots of moles people!

30 Rock – I would say I like this show because 2/3 of it is great writing, and 1/3 of it is because I’m sweet on Tina Fey. Keep up the good work.

The Big Bang Theory – Not a lot of shows make me laugh out loud. This one does it. I’m also sweet on Penny (Kaley Cuoco), but who isn’t?

Bones – We’re catching up on last season (thanks to the handy PVR). So we should be ready to go by premiere time. One of my favourite couples on tv is Seely and Bones. And whatever has happened in the latter half of the season I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT!

Brothers & Sisters – One of the most dysfunctional families on TV I think. I started watching because my wife was interested. I can’t seem to stop now.

Chuck – Oh Chuck. Thank God you were saved from the short sighted, bone-headed hands of NBC decision makers. I’d be very sad to see this show let go. Plus,Chuck knows Kung-Fu for Gods sake!! What more do you want. Oh and I’m sweet on Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski).

Cougar Town – It’s nice to see old Friends folks doing other things. And no, I didn’t mind Studio 60. Plus it’s  made by Bill Lawrence, of Scrubs fame. Should be good.

Dollhouse – I’m so glad I listened and watched past the first 5 or 6 episodes. That’s when it got good. Plus they’re bringing Summer Glau in from the now defunct Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chornicles. I’m sweet on Summer.

Flash Forward – Everyone blacks out for 2 mins, 17 secs. During that time they have visions of themselves 6 months down the road. Some visions are good others bad. Should be intersting. Probably constantly teasing us as to what will happen in 6 months. As long as they don’t string along the boring stuff too long and get to the point, could be good.

Glee – I’m interested because Jane Lynch is whacked. No. Not sweet on Jane, I just think she’s a nut ball.

Grey’s Anatomy – I felt myself waning away from this a little bit. But last season’s finale snapped me back into place.

Heroes – Okay boys. You had me in the first season. Disappointed me at the end of that. Since then you seem to be trying to find your place again. Get your poop together and I’ll come along for the ride. Last chance.

House – I worry about this one. Up till now, no matter what happens, Greg House’s character doesn’t change. He’ll do a little trick or something that will get you off his back so he can return to the same miserable person he is. Last season was a much more involved process of bringing him to a crossroads. Will he change or just find a way to return to himself. If it’s the latter, I’m not sure I can handle him anymore. I love the mystery, but the character needs to move along I think.

Lost – Can’t say much. It’s the last season. I’ve come this far with you. I trust you will bring me to a happy conclusion.

Smallville – I watch now out of habit. Hoping they’ll bring it to a close. Seriously. We’re painting the picture of Superman. He’s becomes a person that needs a considerable amount of confidence, strength, charisma and everything else that comes with being the savior of the planet. Right now Clark isn’t there and he’s close to his mid 20’s I think. If he doesn’t come back from his trench coat wearing, dark vision quest thingy VERY different, I’ll be very annoyed. I don’t care about your initial “no tights, no flights” motto at the beginning of the series. The guy needs to fly. Stop being a super pansy and jump into the game man! So glad Lana is gone. Couldn’t stand her.

V – A remake of the 80’s series and Miniseries. It’s got Lost’s Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell). So it looks like she’s off the island anyway, for the most part. I like the idea. Stay away from lame story lines and you will do okay. Oh and throw in one of the alien women in little pink underwear as a nod to the original and I’m hooked (a little teenage flashback there).

That’s it. Enjoy Fall ‘09 but hang on to the summer as long as possible.

Another of my responses when Microsoft throws up an error dialogue box.

Enjoy:

———————————————-

I’ve got this message for months now and nothing is ever fixed. I’m guessing the error message isn’t correct, since there wasn’t any errors occurring. Unless by “serious error” you mean “Restart even though I told it to Shut Down” then I guess there was a serious error. Perhaps the message is over dramatic and it’s not serious at all. The thing is, if it were serious I don’t think the computer would be able to even tell me that.

That’s all I got this time. Talk to you tomorrow.

———————————————-

I thought I’d share some of my messages that I send when Microsoft puts up an error message. I truely believe there just isn’t anyone on the other end of those things.

Enjoy:

This one refers to radio buttons that had to be selected.

———————————————-

The above 3 choices don’t explain why it isn’t useful. The reason it isn’t useful is because it doesn’t solve anything. You should add that as a selection. “Nothing Is Solved”.

Either that or instead of asking if this information was useful, ask if this information was “useless”. Then I’d pick “Yes”. Because it is useless. I have never, in the very long time using Microsoft products, have ever got a solution. This all is very pointless. My perception of the “Problem Solving Department” at Microsoft involves a lot of donuts, coffee and perhaps many rounds of Halo 3. I kind of want to work there. Sounds like a hoot.

Cheers, have a good afternoon. Enjoy your lunch.

Through the magic of iPhone Apps I may have found a convenient way to do this. But I have said that before. So we’ll see. If I’m back in the next day or two then it’s working.

See you then.

– Post From My iPhone

I guess I should start using this blog. I’ll start with this.

If you’ve ever dealt with Bell Canada (either mobility or satellite), their customer service department will always answer the phone with a pleasantly practiced “Thank you for choosing Bell, how can I provide you with excellent customer service?”

At first you may think that this is a cheesy phrase that they need to say. As a directive from their superiors. Something written on official letterhead as the approved telephone greeting. But really I think that this is a blatant plea. A desperate question saying “Please help us!! How the hell do we give you excellent customer service!? Because we sure as hell don’t have a clue!!”

Do not have a problem that falls outside of their realm. I actually had a service rep say to me “That’s not possible. It just can’t happen.” When I indicated that they in fact did charge me for a service I never asked for they said “We can’t change that because it just can’t happen.”

Much the same as a small child covering their ears or eyes and pretending that it’s just not there as long as you can’t see or hear it.

That’s my thought, as usual, if you don’t like them, who gives a rat’s ass.

T out.
